Profile Information Put together a flashy offensive attack and a charismatic personality and you get Justin Moreno, a wrestler who many are touting as the future of the company. On the surface, you wouldn't picture Moreno as a tough wrestler as in his free time away from the ring, he particpates in such extreme sports as motocross, surfing, and skateboarding not to mention being married with a young daughter. But once that bell rings, "Huntington Beach's Most Xtreme" shows time and time again why he is highly regarded in this industry as a performer with his unparalleled offensive attack and endearing traits that make him beloved by casual and hardcore fans alike. The sky is truly the limit for this young star and the future only holds great things for Moreno. Background: Justin Moreno was born July 3rd, 1979 to a lower-middle class family in Orange, California. During his youth, he immediately developed a penchant for extreme sports such as motocross and surfing. He won several surfing and motocross meets all over Southern California as a youngster and many assumed that he would choose one of those two as his chosen profession. That was until he started watching wrestling at the age of ten and immediately became enamored with the sport. Him and his friends immediately created a makeshift wrestling ring in Justin's backyard and started holding shows for their friends. One day, a tape of one of their shows made it into the hands of noted Lucha Libre star Miguel Rojas and Justin was offered at the age of 15 to come train with Rojas. Immediately, Justin started training and walked away from a promising surfing and motocross career to pursue his dream of becoming a wrestler. After a full year of training, Justin debuted under a masked gimmick for Rojas' Coastal Pro Wrestling outfit in Upland, California, calling himself "The Green Goblin". For the next two years, he would lose more matches than he won as he learned valuable knowledge from his peers in the ring. At the age of eighteen, he was signed to a deal with Wolf Pack Wrestling where he debuted his "Extremist" character, a character greatly influenced by the incresingly popular hardcore style that was becoming prevalent in the business. He didn't catch on and was back in CPW a year later, where he went back under his "Green Goblin" character and started working various indy promotions throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, England, and Japan to make his offense more well-rounded. Word started spreading of his improved in-ring work and he was again a hot commodity by the time 2003 rolled around. In 2003, he came back to WPW for a brief run before Ed Raymond bought the company the next year. Several months later, Justin came in with his "Extremist" character to reprise his feud on the indy-circuit with long-time nemesis Vincent Delerious in a "Nine Levels Of Hell" hardcore series. The feud was scrapped after three matches due to health concerns from TTW management for Moreno and Delerious, which set up J-Mo's first career heel turn, teaming up with Paul jarvis to form "Team Alpha". Despite the team not winning any matches, they achieved some significant success competing in the first and so far only "Cylinder Of Chains" match against the well-known Stellar Insanity and got over as an annoying heel tandem and J-Mo's long-time best friend, Giant Maxx, joined the group as their head of security. Before long, Jarvis turned on Moreno, setting up a Ladder Match between the two over Jarvis' "Jobberweight Title" at "Rise Of The Elite 2". The two put on a sensational match that turned many heads and solidified Moreno as a legitimate face. As a result of winning the ladder match, Ed Raymond accepted Justin's continuous pleas for TTW to have a Cruiserweight division, setting up the "Sky High Division", which Moreno is co-founder of. Moreno competed in the initial "Sky High", but was badly injured in a routine move in a match with Tom Quinn where he ruptured a disk in his neck that had fragmented into his spinal column. Justin worked in immense pain for six long months, not telling anyone of the pain he was in. Around this time, he and his newly-wed, long-time love interest, Allison, were expecting their first child. In Moreno's final TTW match before neck surgery, he put over Marcus Marion in an emotional United States title match where Marion crossed a personal line you don't cross with his continuous insults toward Allison. Little did anyone know this match would give Justin Moreno's career a new birth. After spending an entire year away from the business due to his neck injuries, he returned to find TTW had closed and he went to LEGACY and OPW to make ends meet. Moreno started off his 2007 year in grand style with an impressive run to the finals of the Hawkins Memorial Tournament that made many stand up and take notice of the youngster from Huntington Beach. Shortly after the tournament, Moreno left OPW due to checks bouncing when he was supposed to be getting paid, leaving him to focus on LEGACY. Justin then embarked in an epic feud with Marcus MiRage that drew even more interest in him than before. Later in the year, he embarked in an emotional feud with Crash that led to a Fatal 4 Way at "Elevated Tensions" where Moreno put together the performance of his life, nearly winning the World Title before falling short in the end. The loss actually elevated Moreno's career to a whole new level. Then, on February 12th, 2008, after 13 years of paying dues and working hard night in and night out came the crowning moment to date of Justin Moreno's career when he faced X-Calibur for the Tao of Valor title in a very hard-fought match. Justin threw everything including the kitchen sink at the legendary X-Calibur and on this night, he defeated the legend to become the new Tao of Valor Champion, achieving his boyhood dream of becoming a champion. The future couldn't be any brighter for Moreno as he has now officially cemented himself as one of LEGACY's true top-tier performers. |
